Leoni Marie Hübner shows a world in which the appearance of the protagonists opens up the narrative, but the personalities and stories of those depicted always remain in focus. Questions of belonging and a performative play with identity run like a thread through the various commissions and projects.
Marie's original background is in music and dance. After a foray into Musicology and French Literature, they went on to study Communication Design with a focus on Photography at the Muthesius University of Fine Arts and Design Kiel and the Écoles de Condé in Paris.
Marie is an active member of the Focus agency as well as the Freundeskreis des Hauses der Photographie, Deichtorhallen. Marie is based in Hamburg.
